PRAYER
PRAYER…
Prayer is an essential part of our lives as Christians and in the life of the Christian Union. As Christians, we believe that when Christ died for us and took away everything we’d ever done wrong He made it possible for us to be with God and to talk with Him. We also believe that God loves to spend time with us and listen to our prayers.
Many people wonder why there’s any point in praying if God can do anything He wants, and after all, as He knows everything, He knows what is going to happen. But we have the privilege of being involved in His plans and when we pray we are asking God to use us. And when God uses us life is never dull!
24/7 PRAYER WEEKS
In the third week of every term the Christian Union dedicates a week to focus on prayer. During this week there is a prayer room set aside in the chaplaincy where anyone can go at any time of the day or night and pray. Obviously every single person is different and likes to express prayer in different ways. In this room are loads of resources including art materials, cushions, music, bible verses and many things that are there to help people to focus on God. But these weeks are much more than a room; it is a time when the CU can be refreshed in their vision and make sure our eyes are fixed firmly on God.
PRAYER BREAKFAST
Start your day with God! Can you honestly think of anything better? Every Tuesday and Friday morning a group of us meet together to spend some time with God praising him, praying for our university, our friends…and eat toast. Nothing can chase away those morning blues like meeting with our creator! Toast provided.
Time: 8:00 – 8:50 followed by breakfast (yes that’s am) Mondays and Thursdays
Place: Chaplaincy library
